Cripple Punk is a movement that will always mean so much to me ever since I saw Tai’s posts on tumblr in 2016.
They proposed that disabled people didn't need to be "morally good" when one day they posted a photo of themself holding a cigarette on tumblr. It caused waves of upset but they stood their ground. Yes they were a flawed disabled person and that is okay. They still deserve to be respected as much as any other person, disabled or otherwise and it should not be conditional. We all do.
[ID: a digital drawing featuring two disabled people. The first is thin with short orange hair and many facial piercings and missing their left leg. The second is fat with longer hair that is braided and purple on the ends. they have glasses and also have some piercings. They are holding a forearm crutch at their side. Both people are white and sitting and are dressed in black with many patches, many disability or pride themed. Above them is the hashtag #CripplePunk]
